Interview with AMD’s Fred Weber

Cnet has been able to grab Fred Weber, who is “Chief Technology Officer” at AMD, for an interview. Among others he answers this question:

“What about the folks who say there just isn’t enough software available yet to bother with 64 bits?”

– Some people might ask, “Do you want 64-bit software today? Do you absolutely need it?” The answer is, “Unless you’re a power user, you don’t absolutely need it today.” But does anyone question that in three or four years, you’ll absolutely want it? I think the answer is no.”
