Apple recently released an updated version of its MacBook Pro series of laptops. The update was that it had simply decided to transfer also this series of computers to Intel’s new mobile Core 2 Duo processors. Over at Macworld they decided to test a number of the new models which Apple now offers and compared these to the previous generation with Core processors. The result is pretty obvious and not very surprising. We can see up to 40% better performance, but we lack are tests with battery time and temperatures, which is something that is very important considering that Core 2 has a higher power consumption than Core and that the temperatures have been a reoccurring problem.
