It seems that Mandriva is still in the game. A lot more information on the debacle in Africa has surfaced now and finally there’s some form of clarity. It seems that the choice to switch to Windows XP was made by the distributor Technology Support Center (TSC), and not the government. This decision has now been overruled by the government as it intends to keep Mandriva on the Classmate PCs. It’s still possible for them to transition to Windows XP in the future, but as for now, Mandriva is the primary choice. Microsoft on the other hand still claims that Nigeria wants Windows.
