Microsoft has been rather quiet when it comes to the release of the first service pack for Windows Vista, but we’ve been hearing from various companies (Intel among others) that the first SP will arrive this fall. However, it seems that the SP1 may be delayed and the reason is quite simple. There is simply very little to gain for the regular user compared to Vista’s built-in update system. It’s not the first time we hear this and it seems that Microsoft may delay SP1 till next year. Although this means that many companies will postpone their upgrades even further as they’ve said that they will wait until SP1 arrives, something that ease the pain of mass installations.
