The battle between Microsoft and the European Commission have been many lately and now The Financial Times reports that the EC isn’t pleased with how Microsoft has tried to settle and satisfy the EU’s demands. EU has apparently gone all the way now and said that the protocols has to be free of charge for competing companies, simply because they don’t offer enough innovation. Previuosly, Microsoft has given in to the demands and released previously locked protocols, and as far as we know revised the license fees, but according to this report Microsoft isn’t even allowed to charge a fee for its patented protocols.
