Iomega lanched a mini USB drive with 256 MB capacity. The device supports enough capacity for the Active Disk technology which allows software compatible with this to launch and run from the mini drive (CD autorun rings a bell?). The company says that more than 100 Active Disk applications are available from their website. Some of the titles are MS Reader and MusicMatch Jukebox.
The drive comes also in 128MB sizes and has a “password protected zone” to store sensitive content. When connected to a USB 2.0 port, the device features 1MB/sec read/write performance.
