Intel has for long been rumored to launch new processors during the third quarter, among these we’ve seen the 6X50 series which will introduce the new 1333MHz buss to the retail market. According to a roadmap DailyTech has gotten their hands on these will not just arrive during the third quarter but also arrive costing tops $300 and will thus be even cheaper than current models. Core 2 Duo E6850 will namely cost $266 at quantities of 1,000 units. It will also offer two new processors at 2.33GHz, where the cheaper will lack TXT (Trusted Execution Technology, previously known as LaGrande).

Together with the E6X50 series there will also be two new E4000 processors in the form of E4500 (2.2GHz) and E4400 (2.20Hz) costing a little more than $100. Intel will also expand its budget segment with the Pentium E series with the E2160 (1.8GHz) and E2140 (1.6GHz), costing less than $100. These are according to DailyTech based on the Conroe core, which we have to doubt at least a little, but reduced to a 1MB L2 cache and the same 800MHz bus as the E4000 series.
