Yesterday at the Embedded Systems Conference, AMD announced that it has plans to produce mid and low-power AMD Opteron CPUs.
These new Opterons will be launched in the first half of 2004 and generate 55 and 33 watts respectively. The thought behind launching low and mid-power processors is to offer consumers AMD64 technology for everything between high performance clusters to blade servers.
