Zalman appears to have a new VGA cooler, the ZM80C-HP. It uses the same techniques as its older brothers, but is bigger and allows adoption of a special slim 80 mm fan (ZM-OP1, optional).
Although previous versions were unable to work with Matrox Parphelia, this new model has the following note:
“If used with NVIDIA GeForce FX 5800 or higher model, or Matrox Parhelia, the noiseless fan (ZM-OP1) must be used. “
Wasn’t the problem Zalman had with Parphelia the lack of mounting holes? If you look at the picture, Zalman still uses them to attach the main part to your card. So the mounting system didn’t change. Then my question would be; why is this thing listed to be compatibile whilst the others are not?
Something to discuss in our forums I guess…
