As Intel is about to launch its new Core i7 processor architecture it is not just new processors and motherboards that will be needed. Those who are looking to get an upgrade for their current systems need a cooler that supports the new socket format. If you’re not happy with Intel’s boxed coolers or simply has a more efficient model you will need a new mounting kit for the new platform. Most manufacturers are working on or already have compatible mounting kits for the older coolers, but Noctua takes things up a notch.
It has developed a LGA1366 mounting kit for all of its coolers that has been announced since 2005 and will send this out for free. The only thing you need to do is upload a proof of purchase to Noctua’s website. We hope others follow Noctua’s example and offer the same exquisite support.
