GeForce GTX 480 - Pictures & Overview
Getting to the point, let’s look at the card. The first thing that strikes you is that the shortness of the card, which still promises power hunger. The card is 0.5″ shorter than HD 5870, which is pretty damn good for such a complex card.
The card is exactly like those seen in our pre-review news reports, that is like most other high-end graphics cards. A relative important difference from other cards is that NVIDIA has chosen to use what we assume is nickel coated aluminum on the front – although a bit cool, but it also shortens other expansion cards that will sit close to it, which isn’t all that fun when you’re running two GTX 480 in SLI, especially since the card lacks a backplate á la AMD Radeon HD 5870. Regarding the outputs NVIDIA has chosen to go with two DVI ports and one mini-HDMI, we would have preferred a full size HDMI port instead.
We gut the card on the next page.
