nForce 650i Ultra is the budget model of NVIDIA’s latest chipset family for the Intel platform and now that is is silently launching its new budget chipset it is with close ties to the nForce 650i SLI chipset. In short, it’s the SLI support that has been removed for the nForce 650i Ultra while things like DDR2-800 and Gigabit Ethernet are still there. nForce 650i Ultra supports all of Intel’s Core 2 processors and the new models with a 1333MHz bus. At ChileHardware they’ve published pictures of NVIDIA’s reference motherboard and you can clearly see that this is not a high-end model of any sort since the motherboard is looking quite Spartan, but at the same time the prices will be quite low, sub-$100, which is lot more appealing.

Whether the motherboard manufacturers will pick up on the new nForce 650i Ultra chipset remains to be seen, but we should see the first motherboards any day now.
