R600 will be called Radeon X2900XTX when it finally arrives in stores alter this month, if we’re lucky. Rumors have been going around that the performance could both be better than the competition and that it would be a disappointment. OCWorkbench has now published figures that points to that R600 will perform better than an overclocked GeForce 8800GTX, and we should not forget the early stage of the drivers, which means that there’s more to come. The figures presented says that R600 will reach 12,500 points with an Intel Core 2 Extreme X6800 in 3DMark 06, while ASUS EN8800GTX Aquatank (630/1030MHz) only reaches 11,400 points.
