We’ve seen some pictures of AMD/ATI’s coming R600 graphics card but these have been the monster cards that will be sent to OEMs. By the looks of it these will only be found in OEM PCs as they don’t have the same requirements when it comes to low noise as the regular PCs do. We have for long known that the retail version will be considerably shorter and even it will not be a small card, 24cm is a lot more acceptable. At The Inquirer they’ve now published a 3D rendering of what is suppose to be AMD/ATI’s coming R600 card, code-named Dragonshead 2 (?).
Where the rendering comes from isn’t revealed but the card will sport the same frequencies as the beefy OEM/workstation card and also be equipped with 1GB GDDR4 memory. Now we’re just waiting for the first “Live shots” of the retail cards to see what kind of cooling AMD/ATI has developed for its new flagship.
