RyderMark appeared back in November of last year, when the developer Candella Software unveiled that it is working on a more authentic benchmark (read: compared to 3DMark) for measuring the graphical performance of a system. Candella has created its benchmark using actual game code and loads the computer just like a game, including the sound circuits. At Madshrimps they’ve published a short preview of RyderMark and what it has to offer. Alas (?) it is just a DirectX 9.0 test, which could be a big disadvantage now that FutureMark is working on a pure DX10 3DMark. At the same time it could become a great advantage as everyone can use it and compare their systems. Madshrimps has also compiled a video showing what you get to see during the benchmark.
