Samsung is a leading manufacturer of both memory and mobile phones, which makes it newest product rather expected as it fills a void on both markets. Most people are used to mobile phones with about 16-128MB of integrated storage and that you have to use external memory cards to increase the storage capacity any further. Samsung has now developed a new 4GB MCP (multi-chip package) memory circuit that makes it possible to reach a massive storage capacity with mobile phones. According to Samsung, this will both ease the manufacturing of mobile phones, and improve the performance and storage capacity of coming mobile phones.
“We’ve now perfected a memory chip that allows handset manufacturers to significantly reduce development time while deploying an extremely robust design that will result in higher performance for smaller phones, with higher storage capacities,”
The ever growing assortment and use of multimedia mobile phones makes this a pretty logical development, as storage capacity is often a limitation when handling multimedia with mobile phones.
