At SFF Tech they have looked closer at two relativly unknown SFF systems from the English based manufacturer Hoojum. Hoojum concentrates themselves more on the exclusive buyers with sober and minimalistic design which until today has made that they have only offered systems with VIA processors.
But now they have except an increase of the VIA sortiment also a Pentium 4 based SFF system on the shelves. The latter goes under the name Cubit P4 and uses Shuttle’s popular FB61 mainboard with the Springdale chipset.
Cubit P4 and Cubit 3 (VIA C3 processor) has really been investigated by the guys at SFFTech and it is very difficult to miss the great effort that Hoojum has put on the design on these barebones.
For example Cubit P4 has an aluminium case which is chromed like a mirror and eats finger prints for breakfast. But with these well designed SFF cases a mean pricetag also follows. Cubit P4 with included FB61 mainboard is sold for about 625€ which is quite a bit of money.
But there are worse models…
” Hoojum also offer a custom made, individually numbered, gold-plated Cubit P4. We decided not to enquire about the price …”
