Intel Skulltrail is scheduled for launch in Q1 2008, and we’ve seen some public displays of real mayhem in various multithreaded benchmarks, even some quite impressive overclocking when it easily broke 4GHz with air cooling. In the hands of a genuine overclocker such as Fugger, the platfom is capable of much more though. In a thread over at XtremeSystems he’s posted a score from Cinebench 10 when running the Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9775 processors at 4.8 GHz. The score of the multithreaded test is nothing but breathtaking: 34 839 points.
