VIA announcing DeltaChrome

The options in the video card market keep growing and growing. VIA announced its first chip to support DirectX 9, DeltaChrome. There will be three versions of this GPU manufactured in the 0.13 micron process: the S8 for the mainstream sector, the S4 for the value market and the F1 for hard core gamers and high end systems.
The value and mainstream market versions will support 128 MB while F1 will carry up to 256MB. With 8 pipelines DeltaChrome will offer fill rates of 2.4 billon pixels per second. Different media speculate that S4 will likely have and four pixel pipeline instead of four.
The chips will have a High Definition Tv (HDTV) output with 1080 profressive lines of resolution. And Chromotion a  programmable video processing engine to apply filters to any video source like MPEG2 and 4, as well as Windows Media video.
VIA said the prices will be aggressive, but gave no further details about them or the chip´s shipping date.
