VIA have been delivering extremely energy efficient solutions for x86 systems in the shadows of Intel and AMD. Now sources suggests that the circuit maker is working on a quad-core processor to launch in 2011 together with a DirectX 11 chipset.

VIA will keep integrating its graphics circuits into chipsets and holds of baking them into the processor, a technology both AMD and Intel is adapting.

We have no details on VIA’s coming processor, but the new DirectX 11 chipset will be named VIA VN11.

Already this Winter VIA will launch a dual-core Nano CPU with 2.0 GHz clock frequency, 2MB L2-cache and 1333 MHz V4 data bus. The CPU is rated 20 watt TDP and is designed for portables.
