Viewsonic recently launched a new LCD-TV and as if that wasn’t enough for once the new monitor has a native resolution of 1280×720 pixels (720p). Thus you don’t need any form of scaling of 720p HDTV-signals from tv-broadcasts or optical media. Today most monitors (LCD, Plasma) use a resolution that isn’t compatible with the standardized HDTV-signals, which forces you to scale them which in turns results in a loss of quality. Except from a native resolution at 1280×720 pixels Viewsonic N2750w offers a brightness of 550cd/m² and a contrast ratio at 600:1. The screen itself is 69cm diagonally which results in a 27″ screen. The depth is a mear 9.6 cm and with a responce time of 16ms it should be able to cope with fast motions. The integrated tv-tuner is a standard PAL-model for use with the regular analog TV-networking, a digital will have to be purchased seperate. Through the many inputs you can actually show two signals at the same time, in other terms watch tv on one side of the screen and browse NordicHardware on the other. Unfortunately there seems to only one VGA-input at best, I,e, no digital which would have been for the best. Other than that N2750w looks like a very nice product, and the recommended price at $1199 doesn’t seem all that bad. For now we can only hope to see more monitors with “correct” native resolution on the market! Source: Viewsonic
