Xbox 360 Elite seems to be the final name of the new Xbox 360 model that has been circulating the web the last couple of months. We’ve heard rumors of a black case, HDMI support and a larger harddrive. Now that the new version has been unofficially confirmed it seems that more or less all of the previous stated information is correct. Xbox 360 Elite will be black (console, controller and carton), shipped with a 120GB harddrive and even an integrated HDMI output. The only thing missing is an integrated HD DVD player, which some rumors claimed and more were hoping for. This is not something Microsoft is even considering right now.

At Engadget they’ve managed to get a hold of some information about the new version of Xbox 360 and among others we find out that it will be a Limited Edition sold beside the two regular models with a price of 479 USD.

The Elite model will also be cooler than its predecessors, but whether this is because of new 65nm circuits or some other optimizations we don’t know. By the looks of it, Xbox 360 Elite will be launched at the end of April and we will just have to wait and see how many there will be.
