AMD certainly are on a hot streak at the moment and even though Intel are looking strong with their Core architecture, not much looks like a big threat against AMD as it is a save for Intel. AMD has as earlier climbed up the almighty ladder of marketshares, both on the PC and server market. The latter has always been Intel’s home ground, and they rarely have had any competition on the x86 server market. Now reports come claiming that that AMD has gone from a market share of 16.4%, Q4 2005, to a whopping 22.1% for Q1 2006. To say the least, a massive increase and without a doubt a hard one for Intel to catch, a Intel corporation that soon needs to do some major changes to keep their flag flying on the x86 server market.
