AMD recently released a new processor driver for its K8 architecture, but the new driver, known as 1.3.1, lacks any kind of documentation. In other terms, it’s hard to say what the driver will actually improve or fix. At DailyTech they’ve posted some information from AMD that states that the new driver will solve some of the rare problems that have occured with Cool’n’Quiet. Some systems, very few according to AMD, have had problems with power saving modes and that C’n’Q did not behave the way it should. The new driver will solve these problems so those who can’t get their copmuters to work well with power saving functions should really check this one out.
