The holidays is no time for people to sit down and relax. At least not if you recently got your hands on a rare and extremely good sample of Intel’s Core 2 Duo E6600. Turkish overclocker Hey has together with a good fellowship managed to push this processor up to an impressive 5.4GHz by pushing the FSB up to 600MHz. The cooling was of course liquid nitrogen with a base temperature at -115°C. The motherboard was an ASUS P5B Deluxe which had been modified for voltage in several ways. At a little lower frequency they also managed to complete a 1M SuperPi round at less than 10 seconds. Some quite extreme work with a clearly more affordable processor than we usually see.
