Kentsfield will be Intel’s first Quad-core processor for the retail market. This is basically two Core 2 Duo E6700 ircuits mended together to create what will be the next Extreme processor we will see from Intel. Dailytech has come across a new roadmap from Intel that states that Kentsfield will work at 2.66 GHz with a 1066MHz FSB. Alas, it seems that Kentsfield has become a too big priority for Intel which has lead to that the other Extreme processor we’ve been looking forward to, X6900, which would work at 3.2GHz, isn’t even mentioned in the roadmap. Whether we will see any of these two before the end of the year remains to be seen though.
