Kingston HyperX KHX7200D2K2/1G isn’t exactly the shortest name on the market for a memory module and you might wonder what’s hiding behind the long name. It is Kingston’s latest memory modules which among others are specified at 900MHz DDR2 speeds and even though there are several DDR2 modules today that are specified at 1000MHz DDR2 we can always hope that the HyperX series is as easy to overclock which we are used to. However in X-bit Labs’ tests Kingston’s modules doesn’t do all that well, which neither brings aggressive latencies nor extreme frequencies. But that 978MHz DDR2 memory doesn’t impress them or us perhaps says more about the memory market than anything else.
