LG GBW-H10N is one of the first Blu-ray burners on the PC market which can burn BD media at 4x speed, a great improvement over the first generation burners which could only handle 2x speed. At Reg Hardware they’ve tested LG’s new burner and with the right media the burn time is more or less half that of the previous generation of burners. It took about 16 minutes to burn an entire 16GB BD-R using LG GBW-H10N, which you can compare to the 32 minutes it took for the same tile and media with Pioneer BDR-101A, which only offers 2x write speed. Unfortunately there are some problems with rewritable BD media but it’s good to see that the write times are drastically lowered for Blu-ray, now we’re just waiting for the prices to go the same way.
