That the software and IT industry is working harder than ever before to fight the piracy is hardly news worth telling. That Microsoft has planned to support technologies that prevents distributing of illegally copied material with its next operating system isn’t news either. But now it seems that for the frst time we have received detailed information about some of Windows Vista’s less desired features. Microsoft’s goal, which the rest of the industry demands, is that no audio or video signal will be able to leave the computer if it is not verified as legal. They will use a number of technologies to make this possible, among others the video outputs will be turned off and also the PCIe-bus will be controlled when media is about to be transferred to the graphic card.
