Cooling manufacturer Noctua is one of few that really puts its entire soul into every product. They are not just designing powerful and efficient coolers, but also silent case fans. The Austrian manufacturer has launched a new 120mm fan that will offer up to 10% higher airflow than the former, but also higher pressure, at the same level of noise. Noctua has revised the blades of the fan. Now slightly longer and rounded edges, small changes with great results.

Noctua NF-S12B comes with tuned blades

Noctua NF-S12B is available in two versions, FLX and ULN. Where FLX stands for Flexibility and enables RPMS of 1200, 900 or 600. ULN stands for Ultra-Low-Noise and runs at 700/500 RPM for some really silent operation.

“In addition to its highly optimised impeller design, the NF-S12B features Noctua’s time-tested premium quality SSO-Bearing as well as Smooth Commutation Drive 2, the latest version of Noctua’s advanced drive system that ensures superb running smoothness by eliminating torque variations and switching noises.”

Noctua’s fans are far from the cheapest around, but those who are looking for truly silent and efficient fans it may be worth the expense. Noctua NF-S12B FLX and ULN cost just north of $20.
