New graphics card drivers are one of the most common sources for information about coming graphics circuits and now they’ve once again been able to dig up some some interesting information from NVIDIA’s ForceWare drivers. The last set of Windows Vista drivers from NVIDIA namely reveal two new graphics circuits, a new budget card in form of GeForce 8400 GS and a new high-end model, GeForce 8800 Ultra. Exactly what plans NVIDIA has for these circuits remains to be seen but we know for sure that the G80 architecture scales very well with increased frequencies which means that GeForce 8800 Ultra should raise the performance bar even further. Whether this will be enough to match R600 is going to be interesting to see.
