NVIDIA made its announcement and the world can finally stop holding its breath. The announcement was to reveal that there will be a second announcement of  the “ The world’s fastest PC graphics gaming technology” on March 26th at PAX East 2010. The graphics circuit maker will be showing its coming GeForce GTX 4xx series and GeForce Fermi architecture to the public between 18.00-19.00 local time, which hopefully means that the card till finally launch the same day, or the days before.

NVIDIA will make a kind of community geared launch of its new graphics cards, which is actually kind of rare. The company has launched a micro-site for the event where NVIDIA will be having its own booth where visitors can test drive the new cards in genuine 3D and 3D Surround.

GeForce GTX 480 will be shown to the public on March 26th

NVIDIA will be arranging the first 3D game tournament with Battlefield Bad Company 2 and give away a custom built system with dual GeForce GTX 480 graphics cards. The system is built to honor recently deceased forum moderator Chris Arthington, and we can only assume it will make one LAN visitor very happy.

Still we have no details on the coming graphics cards. So all we got and all the fuzz was just to reveal the date they will be showing the card in public, we’re not even entirely sure they will launch the card. Let’s just hope that when the card actually launches there will be quantities to go around.

It’s about time they released some Fermi info! Now we just need to get them to kill g92b. I totally called this one: “…there’s the GT 320 and GT 330, which use the G92b core, which has roots going back to the GeForce 8800 GT (a card that debuted in 2007).” -Gizmodo. Seriously, that chip has to have set some sort of record.
