We already know most worth knowing about AMD’s third model of the ATI Radeon HD 5800 series. Rumors have been going since January but the launch date has been moved over and over again, so many times neither AMD or partners seem sure when the card will actually launch. As recently revealed the launch is close at hand and according to our sources to the launch date is set.

On February 25th, one week after Chinese new year, AMD intends to release the stripped down Cypress GPU. Radeon HD 5830 will sport only 1280 stream processors but still have some pleasant clock frequencies and 1GB GDDR5 memory.

The graphics card is said to have an MSRP around 240€ but will hopefully cost closer to 200€ than 240 when stores are done with their price adjustments.

According to the reliable sources we have talked to the launch will happen on February 25th and the last piece of the puzzle will be a new and updated driver that fully supports the new graphics card. The new driver is expected to be ready next week and hopefully we will see some samples in circulation by then.

No one has been able to confirm the cooler of the  new 5830 card, but presumably it will be similar to the one used by HD 5850 (pictured)

We will return with more information on this card, on February 25th if not sooner, but with all the twist and turns up until now nothing is set in stone.
