AMD has revised its launch schedule for the graphics circuit Cayman. Beside moving Radeon HD 6990 into Q1 2011 it has now set the media embargo for the first Cayman cards Radeon HD 6970 and Radeon HD 6950 to sometime in week 50 in December.

In a statement AMD says that the demand for the AMD Radeon HD 5800 series is still good and that its flagship Radeon HD 5970 is still the fastest card on the graphics market.

The exact reason for the delay of the Radeon HD 6900 series was not revealed, but that it would only be because AMD is happy with its current sales we don’t quite believe, there has to be something more.

In the near future it will share more information on the new cards and a more exact launch date, but then most likely under embargo. By the looks of it AMD will get its card out for Christmas, if there will be any availability worth discussing.
