A couple of weeks ago we heard about how Samsung was planning to launch an ultraportable to get a foot in on the netbook market. The computer appeared earlier this month during KT WIBRO Alliance in Seoul and since then prices and specifications have been revealed. Samsung has made an official announcement that confirms the previous information saying it has a 10″ display with 1024×600 pixel resolution, 1.6GHz Atom processor, and up to 1GB RAM and 160GB harddrive space.

Samsung decided to equip NC10 with a 6 cell battery that should enable more than a few hours of operating time. NC10 comes well endowed and has most features seen with competing netbooks, like Bluetooth, WiFi (only 802.11b/g), card reader, 1.3MP web camera and 93% scale keyboard.

Samsung NC10 is slated for October and should cost somewhere around $550. This is a bit more than most other netbooks. Although, the price of MSI Wind with 6-cell battery will be in the same area when it arrives.
