Serial ATA has really gained a strong position on the market the last year and even if regular computer users are still switching over from IDE to SATA the technology has meant more to smaller companies and less advanced servers. SCSI is simply too expensive, which makes SATA perfect as it is similar in many ways, but much cheaper.
