The tip of the day will show you how to remove the username from the start menu.

Start the Registry editor:
Start > Run > Regedit

Go to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

Create a new DWORD by rightlicking and chosing New. Name it ”NoUserNameInStartMenu” and set it to 1.

Next time you log in you won’t see a username there anymore.
