Windows Vista is rarely mentioned in the news these days as Microsoft nearing the completion of its new Windows 7 operating system. Vista has been harshly criticized since the launch, but it as improved and matured over the years. Not the least after Service Pack 1 and numerous smaller updates along the way. Now the next great update of Windows Vista has arrived, Service Pack 2.

Windows Vista SP2 is available for download in five different languages and can be downloaded from the software giant’s website. The new update of the operating system brings a lot of new functions and among others we see a better WiFi support and Bluetooth v2.1.

Microsoft has also officially given its support for writing to Blu-ray media. Something that could only be solved through third-party applications before. Even if Blu-ray storage is still far from common it’s nice to see that even Microsoft is getting ready for the new format.

More information on Windows Vista SP2 can found at Microsoft’s website where you can also fetch Service Pack 2 for both Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008.
