Despite the high price of PlayStation 3 Sony expects the demand to rise and it is currently preparing to meet this coming demand through a new manufacturing partner. It has namely certified the component manufacturer Foxconn for making PlayStation 3 consoles and it will start doing so during the second half of 2007. Foxconn will then start mass producing PS3 and be fighting motherboard rival ASUS for Sony’s PS3 orders. ASUS is currently manufacturing both PlayStation 3 and PSP. Exactly how many units that are expected from Foxconn isn’t revealed, but this will most likely be affected by the demand the upcoming period.
