ULi M1697 chipset tested

ULi M1697 is a budget chipset for AMD’s K8 market and just as the nForce4 chipset from NVIDIA it is a single chip solution. ULi M1697 is similar to NVIDIA’s extremely popular chipset, but has an ace up its sleeve, a 7.1 channel HD Azalia sound circuit. How hard the competition will be between ULi and NVIDIA is a bit uncertain as NVIDIA’s recently decided to acquire ULi, but it sure looks like we can have several capable motherboard chipsets on the market.
