ECS is one of the really big motherboard manufacturers in Taiwan and being mainly a dedicated OEM manufacturer with quite little focus on the retail market, at least the enthusiast portion, it has started to reconsider. ECS has started to pay more attention to the enthusiasts and already it has launched new models. If it could just find some nice base designs for the enthusiast boards it should be a piece of cake for ECS to make these. At Tech Report they’ve namely published an article from ECS Golden Elite Factory which produce the company’s motherboards. They got a tour of the plant and was greeted by an impressive sight of efficient product manufacturing.
ECS Golden Elite Factory manufacture 800 000 motherboards a month at the moment, but the new plant is expected to increase the capacity drastically. At the end of 2006 the plant is expected to produce 1.8 million boards a month and at the end of 2007 the figure should be close to 2.4 million.
