Dell has launched computers with Linux, HP is doing it to selected customers (and thinking of expanding) and now Acer seems to be considering launching computers with Linux instead of Windows. This means that the three largest PC builders in the world are all selling PCs with Linux instead of Windows. Quite a breakthrough. The news of Acer’s decision comes all the way from Singapore where an ad for an Acer Aspire 5710Z reveals a Linux operating system, namely Ubuntu. Acer executives have expressed disappointment over the lackluster Windows Vista earlier, and Linux would be the natural way to go if you’re displeased with Vista.
