Apple announced its hyperfast Intel Macs a while back. They would be up to 2-4 times as fast as today’s PowerPC equivalents, a statement that now seems to have done more harm than good as the sales have been going down. This despite the fact that many tests show that Apple was wrong to claim such a thing the people have chosen to that instead of getting a PowerPC or an Intel Mac where you have to emulate software the wait and will get an Intel Mac when they have matured. Also the fact that third party developers have chosen to be careful with announcing their products for the new platform has probably played its part. In the end it seems that Jobs got more than he bargained for when hyping his new copmuters.
