ATI is expect raise the bar for mobile graphics circuits by launching its Mobility Radeon X1800, a powerful graphics circuit consisting out of 312 million transistors and made with 90nm manufacturing technology. the new circuit has all the features of the X1800 family for the desktop market, e.g. Shader Model 3.0 and AVIVO. Mobility Radeon X1800 has 12 pixel pipelines and a core working at 450MHz which should result in some very nice performance with a laptop. ATI’s new creation will hardly end up in any light-weight systems, but considering the DTR (Desktop Replacement) system’s growth ATI will not have a hard time finding customers. Source: DailyTech
