Small preview imageGeForce 7800 GTX 512MB isn’t suppose to be launched until November 14, I.e. Monday. Despite this some American stores have already started selling the cards and one of the people who have bought one of the first cards has supplied us with some very interesting information. First of all a set of pictures of XFX’s GeForce 7800 GTX 512MB kort which uses NVIDIA’s Quadro-cooler. The card’s default frequencies are also revealed and XFX has set them to 580MHz GPU and 1730MHz memory. Not the least to say impressive if we compare to today’s high end GeForce 7800 GTX 256MB which works at 430MHz/1200MHz from factory.

There have already appeared some quick performance tests with the card and it seems to be very close to stretching past the 10 000  border with 3Dmark on it own with a Athlon 64 4000+ processor. With a faster processor the card will most likely pass the 10k limit, which is about 1000 points more than a Radeon X1800 XT can do.

We gave been struggling to get our hands a GeForce 7800 GTX 512MB card before the launch and unfortunately we’ve had problems with the card NVIDIA had for Scandinavia, but we’ve been able to solve this now and will soon be able to show some unique results with NVIDIA’s new flagship on the graphic card market. We recommend you to keep your eyes open because what we will show you has not been done before and you won’t be able to see it at any other hardware site in the world.

Until then you can glance through this very long forum thrad at NVnews where there are pictures and a lot of early performance tests with GeForce 7800 GTX 512MB.
