According to DailyTech, Intel is far ahead in its of a new Core 2 Extreme processor and the model that has appeared on road maps for the fourth quarter isn’t just any model. The processor will be based on Intel’s 45nm Yorkfield core, which beyond its four processor cores also sports a 1333MHz processor bus. The clock frequency of the processor isn’t certain, but it will most likely be more than 3GHz, which shouldn’t be a problem with the new 45nm architecture. Especially considering that C2E QX6850 will be launched during the third quarter and it will run at 3.0GHz, but is made with the 65nm process. Intel also has a new entry model coming in the fourth quarter, namely Core 2 Duo E4600 that is working at 2.4GHz with 800MHz processor bus.
