OCZ has trumped Corsair’s DDR2-1066, earlier announced as ”the world’s fastest DDR2-SDRAM”, by revealing DDR2 memories at 1100MHz. OCZ PC2-8800 Platinum is the name of the new modules that was displayed at CeBIT and will be available as 512MB and 1GB. The memory is specified to work at 5-5-6 latencies at 1100MHz and should be the new king of the hill among DDR2 modules. Even if we appreciate these faster memories the frequencies has almost started to get out of proportion, similar to the reponse times with LCD monitors, the line for between what is only PR and what is useful is getting mighty thin by now.
