Sony has managed to reach a new low of PR after the problems with its laptop batteries, as expected the extensive recalls have hurt the company economically. Now that it has presented its figures for the second fiscal quarter they are far worse than expected, Sony’s earnings have gone down by 94 percent, mainly because of its battery problems. The cost of Sony’s recall of close to 10 million laptop batteries is so far over $432 million.

But Sony’s game division has also reported large losses as PlayStation 3 has been delayed, which has in turn turned to the worse after that PS2 and PSP sales have dropped. Thanks to Sony’s Bravia LCD TVs and Cyber-Shot digital cameras the total sales still went up by 8.3 percent.
