It seems that the report about broken Radeon HD 2400 and 2600 reaching the retail channel was more or less completely untrue. According to a report by DailyTech that has been in contact with several of the named manufacturers, there are no defective cards. It seems that the original report was completely off and the only thing that may have been an indication of faulty cards is that Acer had ordered cards without UVD (Universal Video Decoder). Acer’s gets its cards from ASUS and/or ECS, and there might have been some mishap at either of the plants, but that’s not even close to the problems that DigiTimes claimed in its report where the diagnostic tool was suppose to be buggy. Anyway, nothing to worry about, just a lot of smoke.
