Toshiba has decided to join the group led by IBM trying to develop chips with 32nm technology. Several circuit manufacturers have teamed up to aid each other and save costs. Except from IBM and rookie Toshiba; AMD, Samsung, Infineon, Chartered Semiconductor Manufacturing (CSMF) and Freescale Semiconductor Inv. have invested in the group. All in all there are now seven semiconductor companies that will work together throughout 2010 to design and develop chips with the new manufacturing process.
